Welcome to our 58th season! As usual, it has been a joy to sit back and select a potpourri of musical works to present to you, all culled from the various wish lists and recommendations I geteach year. The season is bookended by the music of Mozart and Brahms. The first week is very traditional classical and romantic fare. Our second week features an instrument that literally pulls music out of thin air- the theremin. Our third week features music from a Swedish composer worthy of greater recognition. Week four finds us immersed in the 1920 and the jazz era. Schubert fans will be very happy to hear two of his best loved works on our fifth week. The clarinet is the star of our sixth week.
We have had a few challenges to overcome this year. Our wonderful Executive Director, Mavis MacNeil, had to step away from the position because it became unmanageable on top of her full-time job as a public-school music educator and chorale director. Fortunately, she is staying part of our team as a member of our board and volunteer so we do not lose her passion, skill, and insights.
We also lost our internet domain name in the middle of the winter and were unable to recover it so we are now rebuilding our web site with a new address. Huge thanks to our fabulous graphic designer Jessie Glass (glassfoundry.com) for stepping in to solve that problem.
We are pleased to welcome Nathalie Jonas to the Craftsbury Chamber Players team as our newAdministrative Director. She will handle all ticketing and marketing tasks this summer. You can learn more about her and her artistic endeavors at her web site nathaliejonas.com.

I am thrilled to join the Craftsbury Chamber Players as Administrative Director. As a resident of Craftsbury I am excited to be a part of CCP’s more than fifty-year tradition of bringing music to the communities of northern Vermont. I am a dancer, choreographer and professor. I have performed and shown my work widely and taught dance and theory at Middlebury, Sterling, Barnard, Rutgers and elsewhere. I am currently a PhD candidate in dance studies at the Texas Woman’s University.
